Category: Slideshow

This is a joint slide show by some of our up-island members,  Janelle Curtis and Lindsay Elms, that will focus on two recent accidents in the mountains on Vancouver Island. During their slide show, they will explain the circumstances leading to the accident they were involved in, the injuries sustained, the use of their emergency satellite beacons (SPOT and inReach), and the valiant efforts of the search and rescue teams that helped during those fateful days.

Please invite friends and family for an informative night that hopefully we can all learn from to help inform our trips and be more prepared and safer in the mountain environment we all love so much!

Goodies and tea available by donation

Lindsay will be selling copies of his historical book about Vancouver Island Mountains: Beyond Nootka at $10 – a bargain down from $25.  So bring cash.  It is an excellent read.
