Last May, Finn circumnavigated all 1,200 kilometers of Vancouver Island’s shoreline by sea kayak in little over a month. He is the youngest person to do that at age 17….quite a feat! The following fall, he spent several weeks hiking in New Zealand’s backcountry and backpacking the south island. Join Finn for an evening of photos and anecdotes spanning two hemispheres. You will not want to miss this show.
At the start of the evening there will be a presentation to Gil Parker, who has recently been awarded Honorary Membership in the ACC. This is the highest recognition the Alpine Club of Canada offers, and is presented to individuals with a strong and sustained commitment to the Canadian mountain environment and Canadian mountaineering. Come and celebrate with Gil, and hear a little about his long-standing contributions to our section.
All members and guests welcome so please feel free to bring friends and family! Doors open at 7 PM and slideshow begins around 7:30 PM. Goodies and tea by donation.
