In 2003 at the age of 20 Dan was working in a recycling warehouse in Nanaimo where he met a high energy Finnish kid named Henrik Hinkkala. Depending on how you look at it, Dan was either smart enough or dumb enough to let Henrik take him on his first ever back country trip which was the Golden Hinde. The trip was a success and since then Dan has dodged some heavy rock fall, nearly slid into a crevasse and completed some turbo snow descents in his bivy sack while completing the other eight Island Qualifiers.
Whether you have done all the IQ’s and want to reminisce, are ticking them off gradually and need some intel and encouragement or just love the mountains of Vancouver Island, this will be an interesting show! All friends and family are always welcome to come along.
