Learn about efforts to recover the Vancouver Island Marmot from the brink of extinction. The marmot is B.C.’s only endemic mammal species, but once numbered fewer than 30 individuals in the wild. Recovery efforts have increased the population, but much work remains to be done. You will also learn how to identify these special animals and how your sightings can aid the species’ recovery.
