Mount Braden & Plateau Peak Loop
Join me for a scenic fall hike in the Sooke Hills Wilderness Area this Thanksgiving weekend!
I’ll be heading up the Mount Braden & Plateau Peak loop — a moderately challenging route with rewarding views, forested trails, and the beautiful rugged terrain the area is known for.
Date: Saturday, October 11
Time: Meet at 9:30 AM
Location: Mount Braden Trailhead – 3878 Sooke Road. https://maps.app.goo.gl/Nn91LGToGRsLQvx2A?g_st=ipc
Difficulty: Moderate (approx. 9–11 km loop, with elevation gain)
⏱️ Duration: 3.5–4.5 hours (including breaks and summit stops)
What to bring:
- Sturdy hiking shoes/boots
- Layers for changing fall weather
- Water & snacks/lunch
- Poles (optional but helpful on steeper sections)
- Good energy and a sense of adventure!
This is a great opportunity to get outside, enjoy some fresh air a little closer to home (for those living South of the Island). All are welcome, but please be prepared for a moderately strenuous hike.
