Date: Sep 19, 2025 to Sep 21, 2025

Time: All Day

Category: Backpacking

This is a long, steep and challenging hike. On Friday, we will backpack to the meadow and set up camp. Saturday we will attempt the summit, then head back to camp and stay one more night. On Sunday we will pack up camp and hike back down the trail. Approximately 18km round trip.

Participants must be able to backpack and hike at a steady moderate pace on steep and varied terrain. Creek crossings, loose rock/soil/gravel, scrambling and some exposure are involved.

This trip will be postponed to October 3-5 if the weather does not cooperate.

Required Gear: Hiking boots with good tread, backpack and camping gear, headlamp, extra layers and other essentials.

Strongly Recommended: Hiking poles.

Potential Hazards:

Rockfall can be caused by natural forces or by people travelling through the terrain (e.g. scrambling/hiking).

Severe weather conditions. Heavy rain can quickly make river crossings challenging or impassable. Snow is possible in September and can result in slippery conditions. Extreme winds may affect our ability to travel safely on the mountain and/or result in damage to gear.

There is always the potential for slips, trips and falls in the mountains.
