Intro to Rock Climbing Course and Workshop
Intended to introduce beginners to outdoor rock climbing. Course participants will learn the basic skills needed for a day of top roping at the crags including belaying, rappelling, and anchor building.
Tuesday 21 July 6:00PM – 9:00PM
Evening Classroom session (Victoria location TBD)
–An evening discussion of climbing basics, gear, and knots. This evening will be mandatory in order to prepare for the follow-on weekend.
Friday 7 August – Sunday 9 August:
Weekend at the Crags (South Island)
NOTE: Due to the complications of camping as a large group while maintaining proper COVID precautions, we will not be camping at Crest Creek as originally planned. All three days will take place as day-trips on the South Island.
-Three day-trips, climbing at a variety of crags on the South Island (in the Victoria and Nanaimo area). Island Alpine Guides will be joining us on Friday 7 August for a day of formal instruction, followed by two days of an ACC-led climbing workshop.
COST: $157.25/person paid to Island Alpine Guides to pay for the day of instruction.

NOTE:
This course has been a popular offering over the past few years and it will fill up, so we’re asking that participants be able to attend both the evening session and full 3-day weekend.
We cannot guarantee that once signed up for this course and workshop, a refund can be given if you are unable to attend.
