Meeting location: Tim Hortons on Drinkwater Road, In Duncan

Meeting time: 6:30 am

Description: Since Spring has sprung, and the snowpack is stiffening, Walter and I thought it would a fun idea to try Mt Heather in the Cowichan valley again. The summit log is still in need of replacement, and it might be fun to be on the team that places it! We will follow the standard route up and down, it will be about 20 km round trip, and a gain of 1200m. Expect a few km of logging road at the bottom, and a small amount of bushwhacking to reach the meadows.

We will meet at the Tim Hortons on Drinkwater road (by the BC Forest Discovery Center) at 6:30 am, and drive to the trailhead. It should be about a 50 minute drive down Cowichan Lake road and past Youbou, we should start hiking by 8 and be back to the vehicles around 6pm

Gear Needed: Ice Axe, Crampons, Helmets, Good Boots, Gators, Daypack with the 10 Essentials

Max Participants: 4 people

Cost: Approximately 25$ for gas

Rating:  This trip is rated as C2 (C: strenuous, 8-10 hours hiking time, 1200m elevation gain, day pack; 2: moderate slopes, travel mostly on trail).
