Time: 7:00 am - 5:00 pm

Category: Hike

This trip is currently full, but please email to be placed on the waiting list. Spots may open up once weather and snow conditions can be reliably predicted.

Details: Apparently Heather Mountain needs a summit register – it would be great if you were on the team that places it. It might snow, but probably it will be warmer (and/or wetter). Day hike up Heather Mountain, which is at the west end of Cowichan Lake. Up and down the standard route: 20km round-trip, with a total of 1200m elevation gain. Expect plenty of logging road at the bottom, and snow and/or yuck at the top. We’ll probably be starting and ending in the dark.

Equipment: Good boots, gaiters, a day pack with The Ten Essentials.

Rating: This trip is rated as C2 (C: strenuous, 8-10 hours hiking time, 1200m elevation gain, day pack; 2: moderate slopes, travel mostly on trail).
