Meeting location: Yellow Gate, 100-200m south of LOWER Sooke Potholes parking lot
Meeting time: We will leave at 0900. Please come at 0845 to sign waivers, etc.
Description: Rain or shine, we will head to Grassy Bluffs via Harrison trail/Tod Creek trail. If
the ice is off Grass Lake, we’ll stop for those who would like to swim. Depending on how long this has taken, we may make a side trip to Shields Lake for a second swim. We then take an interesting route back down to the Charters Valley, crossing the west Charters near a picturesque waterfall. From there, we make our way south and then west back to the Harrison Trail.
Skills Needed: B2. This moderately strenuous hike might be as much as 18 km or so, and could take 8 hours or more including stops. No supper plans should be made.
Gear Needed: As always, the 10 Essentials! Particularly: waterproof boots, gaiters, headlamp, and a swim towel (if you’re inclined).
