This full day challenging loop hike along the East Sooke Park coast trail and interior trails (including Babbington Hill and Mount Maguire) is 25-26km in length with approximately 900m of total elevation gain. We will hike at a moderate pace with a few short breaks and a lunch stop. Expect to be out for 10+ hours.
Most of this hike is on established trails. Slippery sections are likely and hands may be needed in a few places.
Hiking poles are strongly recommended. Bring the 10 essentials, including headlamp, raingear, an extra layer, at least 2 litres of water/hot drinks, snacks and a lunch. Sorry, no dogs.
Carpooling possible from Helmcken Park and Ride (7:10am) or meet at the Aylard Farm parking lot at 7:50am for an 8am start. Heavy rain or snow will postpone this hike.
