Cobble Hill Mtn. The Scrambling Routes

Description: Few will know that Cobble Hill Mtn. is home to some small, open bluffs and slopes with views of the Shawnigan Lake area (the “backside” of the Sooke Hills) en route to the diminutive north summit. This includes the still unclimbed but, occasionally rappelled “Dawn Wall” below the S. Summit, as well as the forbidding S. Buttress, a short distance removed from the main summit area. We will visit these areas taking full advantage of any steps or bumps along the way.
Skills Needed: Patience going uphill or downhill wherever broom, slippery arbutus leaves and/or your erstwhile trip leader are encountered.
Gear Needed: Boots, Water, Food, Poles (if needed).
