4 Night Wapta Traverse
Participants: 5 (2 spots remaining)
Group Decisions will be fundamental to the group dynamic and reducing risks. This is not a guided trip; the group will share decision making and follow the ACCVI trip motto. Neil is organizing logistics but is not in any way a mountain guide.
Please note: This trip is being posted now to meet the ACC trip posting requirements. Although I am happy to review and communicate with interested participants, it is early and I will not actively be nailing down more detailed communication/plans and participants until January, 3 months prior to the trip date.
More information on the Wapta Traverse: https://alpineclubofcanada.ca/ski-traverses/
Dates: March 28th-April 1st ( 4 Nights on the route)
Cost: huts are 200$ each, based on 5 people (1000$ total); if we are fewer then we will amortize the costs among the participants. Other expenses: wilderness fees, transportation (gas/ferry), road meals, accommodations before / after as needed.
Trip Requirements
– Must have at least AST 1 (2 Preferred) & Crevasse rescue experience, preferably formal crevasse rescue training. Wilderness/remote first aid a plus.
– Ice Axe, Crampons, Harness, Rescue gear (biners/cord/micro-traxion…) are required gear.
This is a self guided traverse requiring participants to pack their own food and gear for the trip duration.
