Meeting place/ trip details:
Meet at the Buckley Bay Main yellow gate @ 8:30am; carpooling on the logging roads will be organized at the gate
***Will be very weather dependent; trying for Saturday as it then gives Sunday as a possibility, if needed
Objective: Enjoyment and to have early season snow build excitement for the upcoming winter!  Great views of both the southern and northern expanses of Georgia Straight, too.

Meeting Location: The yellow gate at the very beginning of the Buckley Bay Main.
Description: -distance: ~ 9-10km return
-elevation: ~ 700m elevation gain – walk up a logging road to reach the ridge then up and along a fairly wide’ish ridge; hope to reach the further, higher summit of Mt. Apps past the first larger summit cairn (will be time and weather dependent)
Equipment: -**strongly recommend hiking poles for slippery, wet, icy rocks and for slushy and/or hard snow
-snowshoes (may or may not use them but in two weeks’ time, I suspect yes, will use them)
-comfortable, solid footwear appropriate for hiking/snowshoeing and also appropriate for snow
-consider bringing microspikes, if you have them the usual “10 Essentials”
Hazards:-wet or ice-covered slippery rocks, streams/lakes that are beginning to freeze and compact snow(*again, hiking poles recommended), ie early season winter conditions: thin snowpack still
-cool, damp snow and weather; hypothermia
-“General Hazards” which mean: Slips trips and falls indoor or outdoor| Equipment failure| Infectious disease contracted through viruses, bacteria, parasites, and fungi which may be transmitted through direct or indirect contact| Negligence of other persons, including other guests| Negligent first aid| Negligence of the guide Including failure to take reasonable steps to safeguard or protect you from, or warn you of risk, dangers, hazards, on participating in ACC activities|
