Meeting location: Mt. Wood

Meeting time: 9:00am

Description: Either Saturday or Sunday, depending on weather and snow conditions. This is a one-day trip to Mt. Wood.  All are welcome from skiers, snowshoes and splitboarders. This is an opportunity to dust off the transceivers and refine your skills before the season comes into full swing. We will be practicing transceiver searches, single and multiple burials, searching techniques, and effective digging formations.  We will not be covering avalanche terrain or how to travel in avalanche terrain. This is not a trip to replace a traditional AST level 1 course, and if you have not taken AST 1 before, we highly recommend you begin with that.  Priority will be given to people who have taken AST level 1 or higher. This is a LGBTQ friendly event.

Skills Needed: Minimum requirement AST Level 1

Gear Needed: Avalanche gear including probe, shovel, transceiver (rentals are available), skis, Splitboard or snowshoes, food, warm layers and extra gloves.

Max Participants: 12 participants
