Description We intend to reach the Cliffe Glacier peaks via Ooshinow lake We will drive up to Port Alberni on Aug.27th and camp. On Aug. 28th we intend to hike around Ooshinow Lake via the red pillar trail to reach our camp just below the Red pillar. OnAug.29th th we intend to traverse the Cliffe range and upper cliffe glacier to summit red pillar, harmston and argus. Based on glacial conditions this will be done by either traversing the perimeter of the glacier on the rock ridge or by crossing the glacier and returning to our camp by circumnavigating the ridge. On August 30thth we will descend from our camp below red pillar, paddle back to our cars and return to Victoria
Skill Level: Long-distance Backpacking or trail running experience, Mountaineering experience (trad gear placements, rappelling), glacier travel and rescue
Equipment Requirements: In-reach device (x2), trad rack (standard rack of cams, and nuts), crampons, harness, glacier rescue kit (ice screws, prusiks, ice tool, pulley, rope, micro traxion), tents + camping gear, Canoe, Gate Key for Ooshinow from ACC VI
