Here is another Mike Whitney and Peggy Taylor pop-up Sooke hills hike! If anyone is keen to see how much snow fell in the hills please come and join us at the upper Sooke Potholes parking lot for 8:50 AM with a view to leaving by 9 AM. We will attempt a Big Loop involving Peden Lake, Empress Mt., Dumbell, Bowflex and Puzzle Peaks, Grass and Harrison Lakes. That would be maybe 20 km and 8 hrs, so bring a headlamp and don’t make dinner plans. There are options to shorten the route if conditions and energy levels warrant. Do bring warm layers to keep you warm in the cold snap. Only crazy people need bring bathing suits, cause swimming can happen at any time of the year!!
