Type: Rock Climbing A5. Single pitch protected lead climbing 5.7 & up. •
Objective: Quadra Island • •
Cost: Camping fees and travel expenses. Car pooling and camping in one location is encouraged. This being high season, get in early with camping reservations, I recommend Rebeca Spit. •
Meeting location: Climbers car park (Walcan Rd). •
Meeting time: Sat Aug 3rd 09:00 •
Description: Fun climbing on quality rock with easy access. Suitable for all skill levels with excellent infrastructure for Top Rope, sport & trad climbers. •
Skills Needed: Proficient belayer, Anchor building, Route finding, Route cleaning, Abseiling with a back up. •
Gear Needed: Helmet (obligatory) Guide book, Harness, Rock shoes, Belay/abseil device, Personal anchor system, 12 Draws, variety of slings, Squamish Rack, 60 Mt Dynamic Rope, Anchor material, 6 locking carabiners. Obviously not every one will have all the gear on this list. •
Max Participants: 10, New climbers are welcome with mentor. This is not a course. • Though it would be anticipated that the more experienced among the group share there knowledge. •
Screening: Skills as listed, Recent climbing experience, Medical/allergic conditions, Beneficial group skills (First Aid), Equipment from list.
