Date: Oct 06, 2019

Time: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Category: Hike

Rating: B2 – This will be a big day with lots of up and down, on both maintained trails and unmaintained trails.  There will be small sections of light bushwacking.  Depending on the fitness level of the group timing can be from 6 – 8 hours.  Please don’t make any evening or dinner plans!  (10 – 12 participants and no dogs please)

Details: We will meet at 8:45 AM at the Upper Sooke Potholes parking lot with a view to leaving promptly at 9 AM.  We will take a route heading towards Peden Lake, but veering off prior to the lake to eventually reach Puzzle Peak, via the Todd Creek Trail, Dumbell Ridge and along the Bowflex Ridge (where there is a wonderful view down to Shields Lake).  Our route back will take us back via Shields Lake and the Tent Pole Trial.

Gear: Please wear sturdy hiking boots, bring your warm layers and rain gear to be prepared for any weather, food and water and the 10 essentials, including a headlight.  Of course bring a sense of fun and exploration too!  The day should be way more fun than the word “slog” indicates  🙂
