ACC-VI member Nadja Steiner will share with us tales and travels from her time spent working in the Arctic.

“2019, before Covid closed the North, turned out to be my Arctic year. In March, work brought me into several communities in the Western Arctic for consultations on a study of climate change impacts on Arctic marine ecosystems. The visits provided a glimpse of the changes and experiences the Inuit communities are going through. In July I joined an Alpine Club trip to hike the Traverse Akshayuk Pass traverse in the Auyuittuq National Park on Baffin Island, described as a natural corridor through a landscape of towering rock. The slideshow will provide some visuals and stories from both experiences mixed with a bit of science background of a changing Arctic.”
